If you had 15 minutes to leave, could you prove what you owned?
On Instagram or Facebook? Tap ··· at the top right and choose “Open in browser” first, then download.
- Video every room, closet, garage, and outbuilding.
- Open drawers and closets on camera. Say brand names out loud.
- Photograph serial numbers on electronics and appliances.
- Save receipts for big purchases.
- Store everything in the cloud, not only on your phone.
- Update it once a year.
Then check two lines on your policy
- Loss of use. If you're out of your home, keep every receipt: hotel, food, mileage. Loss-of-use coverage may reimburse extra living expenses.
- Extended replacement cost. Does your policy pay above your dwelling limit if rebuilding runs over?
